![]() Maybe have the Benchmarks tab above the Differences tab?īeing able to compare graphics cards esp. GTX 760 for example), but does it really make sense to say that the GTX 760's 980Mhz clock-speed is an "advantage" over the 800Mhz of the 7950? For people new to computer hardware (the people most likely to use such a site) this is rather confusing I'd imagine. For example I see the sense in comparing clock-speed between two GK104 chips (GTX 670 vs. for stuff from a different series/manufacturer. Perhaps less focus on the technological differences between hardware, esp. Here's a brief run down of what I think would make the web-site a lot more viable in my mind: TL DR If you're lazy (which you might be if you're reading this) Anandtech's Comparison Tool or CPU-World should be the default ways of comparing hardware easily and quickly, not CPU/GPUBoss. There are a tons of real-world gaming benchmarks, which the GPUBoss comparison severely lacks. GTX 760 comparison doesn't have a single mention of PassMark. It doesn't compare the FX 8350 and i5 3570K on 5 benchmarks, it compares them on over 40. It has tons more information than CPUBoss. It doesn't give CPUs an arbitrary "score out of 10". This website doesn't treat you like a 5 year old. I have hardly ever seen anyone citing a CPU-World comparison. The thing is, for what they do, they aren't even the best tools out there. Like actually what? TechRadar gives the worst hardware reviews ever, and Amazon is just people whining because they had to RMA something. They both quote TechRadar and Amazon reviews. There are absolutely NO gaming benchmarks that I've seen in CPU comparisons. Again test setups or anything of the sort are completely left out. The only other benchmarks they seem to be running are Cinebench and Geekbench. On the CPU side of things, again PassMark seems to feature heavily in comparisons. It's only 3 games as well! Compare it to the Guru3D GTX 760 review which tests 9 different games, as well as 5 FCAT tests. Do we have any idea what driver versions were used? No. Do we have any idea what the test setup used was? No. Do we have any idea what the frame rate achieved in any of these games was? No. I'm sorry guys, but have we not come to distrust a fully synthetic benchmark that rates the GTX 680 higher than the GTX 690 yet?Īpart from the synthetic benchmark they use the two cards are "compared" in 3 real world games (Crysis: Warhead, Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3). HD 7950 comparison as an example, they use the PassMark score as one of the methods of comparing the two video-cards. There is absolutely no mention of the test setups used for ANY of these "benchmarks" Is it just me or does no one else find the results posted on GPU/CPUBoss questionable at best: the 1MB of the 3570K or that the GTX 760 has a 180Mhz faster core clock than the HD 7950? People want to know which CPU/GPU performs better in the real world plain and simple. Yes it's good for comparing CPU/GPU "specs", but what on earth is the point of that? Who cares if the FX 8350 has 8MB of L2 Cache vs. What happened to using trusted and reliable benchmark sites? Some of us now seem to be basing all our recommendations off a single "number" automatically generated by a very questionable site.
